Youth Tour Contest
High school students in West Central Missouri can enter to win a trip to Washington D.C. through the Youth Tour contest.
Students will submit an application to Osage Valley Electric Cooperative on something they are passionate about. The top four finalists will move on to the interview phase. The top two winners will receive a trip to Washington D.C. June 14-20, 2026 where they will explore museums and monuments, and meet representatives of Congress. This is also a great way to make friends with students across the country.
The two runner-ups, who are selected during the interview process, will be able to attend the Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience (CYCLE) in Jefferson City on July 14-17 . Students will listen to engaging speakers, visit local museums and the Capitol, and make friends with other students from across the state.
Not only is this a wonderful experience for student leaders, but it can boost your resume and make your college applications appealing to universities. Have fun and learn about electric cooperatives, leadership, and community development.
Here’s how to enter:
- Applicants must be high school juniors residing in Osage Valley’s service area. (OVEC does not need to be your electric supplier at home).
- Students must submit an application. Applications will be judged on composition, independent thought, neatness, and grammar.
- Applications must be submitted by March 18, 2026, to Osage Valley Electric Cooperative.
- If your application is selected as one of the top four, you will be asked to move on to the interview part of the contest.
- After the interview process is complete, OVEC will announce the winners and runners-up.
Please submit your application to jrosier@osagevalley.com. For questions, please call Jana Rosier at 660-679-3131 Ext 5547.
We look forward to receiving your Youth Tour applications to participate in this program. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about your country, your cooperative and get involved in leadership groups as a student.
