Right-of-Way (ROW)

Reliable electric service starts with a well-maintained system. Trained right-of-way crews help protect the system by keeping power lines accessible and clear of potentially hazardous vegetation within our easement. This proactive work can reduce the frequency and duration of outages while helping crews reach damaged equipment and restore service more quickly.  Keeping easement areas clear and accessible is important to every member. When crews can safely reach cooperative equipment, they can maintain the system more effectively, respond to problems faster and provide more reliable service across the community.

An easement is a legal right that allows Osage Valley to install, access, inspect, maintain and repair electrical facilities located on or near private property. While the property owner owns the land, the easement gives the cooperative the access needed to serve members safely and reliably. Osage Valley maintains 30 feet (15 feet on both sides of the line) from ground to sky on all overhead and underground primary lines. By working together we can help keep reliable power flowing to the homes, farms, and businesses that depend on it every day.
